You & Corona: a decade of making a world of difference

Corona, CA – February 27, 2019 - Corona kicked off its all new Corona Cares™ tool grant program for 2019 this month, celebrating a decade of giving back to the communities we live in. Each year, they recognize projects that include: volunteer planting trees in our urban communities, teaching gardening skills and lessons to young students through school gardens, developing and maintaining therapeutic gardens to help those battling life-threatening illnesses, and growing food in community gardens for local residents who don't have access to fresh food.

The program began in 2009, providing organizations an opportunity to apply for much needed hand tools they need to succeed. Each year, 22 outstanding programs across the country are selected as recipients to receive a tool grant valued at $1,000. Sine the program began, Corona Cares has donated over $200,000 worth of tools. In 2019, we’re celebrating 10 years of the program and pleased to announce our partnerships with other national organizations in the green industry, to help spread the word and get tools out to those in need.

Their garden grant program impacts individual lives using garden-based education and therapy.

Winning school receives a seed starter kit from the Seed Keeper Co., seeds from All-American Selections; slow-release fertilizer by Grosripts; and the essential gardening companion book – Gardenpeida- by Maria Zampini and Pamela Bennett, and a pair of Corona snips.
