Corona, CA — April 24, 2019 Corona® is proud to announce its participation and support of the Arbor Day Foundation. Through this collaboration, Corona is helping plant trees in forests of high need across the country. These trees are restoring forest canopy after a natural disaster, providing critical wildlife habitat, and improving watershed health.
To celebrate National Arbor Day — the tree planting holiday — on April 26, Corona encourages people to take action and plant trees in their communities. Urban trees help clean the air and water, reduce stormwater runoff, sequester carbon and reduce the urban heat island effect.
“Arbor Day is that one day every year that reminds us to think about all that trees do for us,” said Dan Lambe, president, Arbor Day Foundation. “Forests clean our air and water, mitigate climate change, and are home to critical wildlife. With the help of partners, we are able to regenerate life back to these forests. We encourage everyone to set the day aside to make a positive impact in their community and plant a tree.”
“We’re pleased to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to fund 15,000 trees,” said James Wolf, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Corona. “We value the importance that trees provide to our environment and communities we live in. Through our Corona Cares tool grant program, we are also committed to supporting urban forestry by designating 10 grants, valued at $10,000, to worthy organizations. These tools will help ensure that organizations in Arbor Days’ Alliance for Community Trees, keep our community forests thriving as well.”
Founded in 1972, the Arbor Day Foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, with more than one million members, supporters, and valued partners. Their vision is to help others understand and use trees as a solution to many of the global issues we face today, including air quality, water quality, climate change, deforestation, poverty and hunger. As one of the world's largest operating conservation foundations, the Arbor Day Foundation, through its members, partners and programs, educates and engages stakeholders and communities across the globe to involve themselves in its mission of planting, nurturing and celebrating trees.
